Places to Run in the Area

• Hashawha - The area's favorite location to run trails.  Head into Bear Branch Nature Center for a map of the most-traveled trails. 

• Washington Road Community Trail - From the YMCA of Carroll County to Westminster High School 

• Wakefield Valley Community Trail - From the parking lot on Tahoma Farms Road through the adjacent neighborhoods

• Morgan Run - Off Rt 97 in between Westminster and Eldersburg

• Charlotte's Quest - In Manchester, Maryland, near the Fire Hall & Pool

• Soldier's Delight - In Reisterstown, Maryland

• Gettysburg Battlefields - There is a horse trail around the battlefields that you can run on roads and then duck into the trails; just make way for the horses when you see them.

• There is always the Appalachian Trail, which you can pick up in various locations in Maryland and DC, or the Catoctin Trail that runs from Frederick to Cunningham Falls St Park.

• For Rail Trails, there is the North Central Rail Trail/York Heritage Trail from Hunt Valley, Maryland to York, Pennsylvania and the C&O Canal Towpath from Washington, DC to Cumberland, Maryland
