Tahoma Roller Coaster 5 mile Results, 2018
September 9, 2018
At the Tahoma Farm Road Rain Festival 27 runners took on the Splash Mountain version of the Tahoma Roller Coaster. During a steady rain runners navigated the Great Switchback Pond, slid down the Bell Road slide and battled the currents of the Long Valley torrent. Ben Brown, 33, showed that 5 miles is the right distance for a water ride as he splashed to the win in 30:88.3. Natasha Herbert, 33, showed she is as fast on the water as the land taking the win on the women’s side in 38:46.8. Tom Yinger, 48, was the first male 40 and over while Karen Rohrbaugh, 49, was the first 40 and over woman. Other top finishers include John Way, 53, in the over 50 and Doug Preston, 68, in the over 60 age groups. Jeanette Novak, 74, was first in the over 70 age group.
Special thanks to the volunteers: Elizabeth Myers, Gary Honeman, Olivia Stohrer.
